How to play Mexican Train
Step-by-step Mexican Train for a first table, including what the Tilehaus interface expects you to click.
Good to know
- A double-n set has (n+1)(n+2)/2 tiles. Double-12 therefore has 91 tiles.
- Tilehaus deals 16 tiles to 2 players, 15 to 3, and 12 to 4 or more, matching common double-12 schedules.
- A player's train becomes public (open) after that player cannot play and draws.
Before the first tile
Open the Mexican Train table. Choose seat count 2–8. For a first game, enable bots so empty seats still draw and discard on time.
Open vs closed trains
Your personal train is closed to others while you can play. After a draw or pass it opens. Playing on your own train closes it again.
Dump doubles late
High doubles are hard to match. Keep a mix of pip values so you can hit both the Mexican train and an opponent's open train.
