- 不带花牌的中国麻将是 136 张。带春夏秋冬与花牌的套装是 144 张。Tilehaus 教学桌使用 136 张：108 张序数牌、16 张风、12 张箭。
- 麻将几个人玩？
- 四个人。缺人时由机器人坐满空位，只出合法动作。
- 怎样算和牌？
- 四副面子加一对将，共 14 张。面子是刻子、杠或同花色顺子。自摸或点炮均可。
- 什么是番？
- 教学桌用番计分，再按 2 的番次方付钱（上限 128）。箭刻、门风、圈风、自摸、碰碰和、混一色、清一色、字一色是常见番种。无番鸡胡计 1 分。不是香港麻将协会官方表。
- Is this official American Mah Jongg / NMJL?
- No. The National Mah Jongg League card is copyrighted. Tilehaus ships an original teaching card: four pungs and a natural pair, with jokers filling pungs only. Same racks-and-jokers family, not the yearly league card.
- How many tiles are in American mahjong?
- A typical American set is 152: 144 suit-and-honor tiles plus 8 jokers (some boxes add flowers). Tilehaus deals 144 + 8 jokers. Each player starts with 13; the dealer starts with 14.
- How do jokers work in American mahjong?
- On this teaching table, jokers complete pungs and kongs. The pair must be two natural identical tiles. You cannot discard a joker as a wild claim for someone else’s pair.
- What is the Charleston in American mahjong?
- A passing ritual before play. This teaching table skips Charleston so you can learn jokers and the 14-tile shape first. A later module can add passing.
- Can you play American mahjong online free?

- Is mahjong solitaire the same as mahjong?
- No. Mahjong solitaire is a matching puzzle that reuses mahjong tile faces. Four-player mahjong is a draw-and-discard game where you build pongs, chows, and a pair. Winning at solitaire does not teach you how to hu.
- How do you play mahjong solitaire?
- Clear the layout by matching two free tiles with the same face. A tile is free when nothing sits on it and at least one side — left or right — can slide out. Tap Hint to pulse one free pair. You win when every pair is gone; you lose when no free matching pair remains.
- What makes a tile free in mahjong solitaire?
- Two conditions: the tile is not covered, even partly, and at least one of its left or right edges is open. A tile boxed in on both sides is blocked even if the top is clear.
- Why is mahjong solitaire also called Shanghai?
- Activision’s Shanghai (1986) popularized the computer turtle layout. People still search “Shanghai solitaire” for the same matching game. Tilehaus uses a three-layer temple of the 136-tile suit-and-honor set.
- Are mahjong solitaire boards always solvable?
- Random stacks often deadlock. Tilehaus only deals solvable temples: pairs are placed in reverse so every table can be cleared if you pick the right order. A wrong early match can still strand a face.
- How many tiles are in mahjong solitaire?
- Classic computer layouts use 144 tiles (the full set with flowers and seasons). Tilehaus deals 136 suit-and-honor tiles in a three-layer temple — the same faces as the four-player teaching wall, without bonus tiles.

- What is the best strategy for mahjong solitaire?
- Count copies: each face appears four times. Matching two of three free copies can bury the fourth. Prefer pairs that unlock a covered column, and clear the top layer before you spend scarce honors.
